Choreography
As long as I have been dancing I have been choreographing. Creating dance work offers me the chance to collaborate with other talented, thoughtful artists to discover new poetic, emotional and collective truths through intentional movement. To start, I create images and movement ideas for dancers to embody. As we refine these initial inspirations, I work together with dancers to deepen our understanding of these accumulated elements, furthering the power of these movements and uncovering how they relate to each other and the overarching goals of the process. Through continual discovery (driven by movement, reflection, conversation and repetition) these dance ideas grow together to form an open dance work that empowers dancers to carry the depth of the creative process onto the stage.
