Artistic creation is the work of sharing one’s specific perspective in a way that allows others a glimpse into that world view. In that process, it can be crucial to have a creative partner that understands your vision while remaining outside it. As a dramaturg, I strive to be a creative partner offering open dialogue, honest description and thoughtful reflection to help an artist realize their vision. I approach each process with fresh eyes, ready to offer whatever support the artist needs—this has led to some of the most fun I’ve had in creative work!

Through mentorship from Kelly Hirina and a workshop with Guy Cools at ImPulsTanz 2023, I have honed skills of observation, research and communication that can support another artist in their creative process. I have used these skills to support Kelly Hirina in the creation of Eos (2022), Andrew Van Allen in an emotional process resulting in Push/Pull (2024), as well as Taylor Knighton and Leah Logsdon in their 2024 senior BFA capstone projects. I enjoyed these processes immensely and look forward to continuing my work as a dramaturg!
